Mouse offset problem with Steam client
Sometimes the Steam client gets confused about where the mouse is on the screen. To click on a button, I will have to put the cursor significantly below and to the right of the button I want to click on. Restarting the steam client usually fixes it. I'm not really sure what triggers the bug in the first place, although it might be related to changing screen resolution (e.g. when RDP-ing into the machine running the steam client.)

Has anyone else seen/permanently fixed this?

In the picture, steam thinks the mouse cursor is over the "Steam Controller" button, but in reality it is below and to the right.

Windows 8.1, i7 950, Radeon HD 7850, 12GB ram
Steam package versions 1431729692
Drivers are updated, etc.

I actually had this problem you can actually fix this problem without changing the image size of literally everything else on your computer.

Just exit steam, right click on the steam icon, go to properties, go to compatibility, and check "override high dpi scaling behavior"

Go into display settings and change "Change the size of text, apps, and other items" to 100% if it is more than it will off set the cursor because it doesn't affect steam

I had this issue for more than a year. And finally I found my salvation. Thank you very much!
Has anyone figured out a solution to this problem for MacOS?

Yes, it seems to be the scaling. Still, this issue was raised in 2015. I cannot believe almost 4 years later, this issue still persists. I can't be that hard to solve this. Come on Valve: Get this issue sorted. I'm not going to ruin my eyes because of you.

Its 2020 and still have this problem.
woundnt have to use scaling over 100% if steam has a setting for the text size that is microscopic at 100% scaling for windows.

woundnt have to use scaling over 100% if steam has a setting for the text size that is microscopic at 100% scaling for windows.

125% is the sweet spot.

1st try... Steam > Settings > Interface >>> URL address bar, check that setting

Also the "Scale text and icons" (if on Win 10)

2nd... Log out. Steam.exe > properties > compatibility > check Disable display scaling on high DPI settings > apply. Log back into Steam.

Unchecking scale text and icons, with display scaling 125%, still makes steam miss where the cursor are at, and unchecked makes the text microscopic again.

But did you do the other 2 options I posted?
