Seriously though, I doubt it. You won't be able to get it for the Steam Overlay. Although I haven't looked into it. Google may be able to help you there.

If there is, its working method is probably somewhat similar to that of Enhanced Steam's standalone version.

Which means uninstalling the plugin on a later date may affect your hosts file.

Adblocker? as in the program on chrome? or just any blocker of web browser ads will do? as long it does a good job, like ublock. For those individuals, it would be up to someone like them to bring their software to steam, it can run as a background process. Not affecting your otherwise main use of steam gaming etc. The Controller Companion, found on the store when run just runs in the background, easy.

it would be nice, as for big picture mode its annoying to see all those ads just show up on steams web browser, valve really should just bring over from Debian 'Iceweasel' browser n make it their new steam client browser - lol but that would effectively turn the client into a open source software, which they have to lock down :(

Otherwise just do what they suggest here.

Use a hosts file, it works on ALL browsers and apps.

1) Download http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.zip
2) Extract HOSTS
3) Go to Windows\System32\drivers\etc
4) Replace hosts with HOSTS
5) Reboot
6) Enjoy ad free videos forever

Adblock (or preferably ublock) would be nice, the most important thing is blocking the 30 second youtube commercials.

I thought I found out once that the Steam Overlay weeb browser was just a reskin of Chrome, specialized to fit the Steam Overlay, but it's probably wrong, because you can't download Ublock or Adblock or anything from the Chrome apps store or whatever. It really sucks, because a lot of times, I'm just scrolling around on Wikia just looking for something and an AD will play, like an audio ad. Or the ones that take up the whole page and black out everything behind them. Or the ones that change the page layout. Or just any ads in general.

The number one problem is using Wikia. Most of their game information content can be easily found at the original sites that wikia took it from. You will also find that the original sites are kept more up to date than wikia ever will be.
I believe the steam client uses chromium as a web browser which is an open source version of Chrome. In Linux I don't remember ever seeing ads in Steam client or Steam Overlay (other than the single pop up for current sales in Steam Store), so maybe the ads are just a Windows infection.

its so annoying when listening to music on a youtube playlist and every video has a 30 sec non skippable ad
valve should have Adblock plus built in and since the steam overlay browser is based on chrome it would be VERY EASY to impliment
