Download stops at 100%
I am writing this post again as it seem old one was deleted so recently I bought my friend counter strike global ofensive so that we could play together, but then a problem appeard, when my friend downloads the game it stops at 100% and doesnt move at all, in the steam library it says that he downloaded 100% and 4,8GB but when he goes to Steam->steamapps->common->Counter-Strike Global Offensive in the folder he has only one file called "installscript.vdf" where it weight is 5kb and nothing else, the whole 4,8GB that he had "downloaded" doesn't exist we tried number of solutions from internet maybe you would have any other that we could try? I would be very thankful for everyone that helps or at least try to.

Cause it's still under
\Steam\SteamApps\Downloading
and at 100% and still sitting there, it has not completed just yet.
Just wait til it is finished. You will know when it is done.

After it completed fully and ready to play though; first go to Properties in Steam for the game and Verify Game Cache.

Then relaunch Steam and go to Library > CSGO > Properties > Local Files > Verify
Wait til completes.

I would love to know what causes this issue and if there is anything that i can do to make sure it doesn't happen again. This is a pretty annoying issue since it doesn't happen with just counter strike. I do not want to accept the answer of just waiting for it.

Slow drives/system; that is the cause.
On one gaming PC I only was only able to put a 120GB SSD in there for the OS.
Games are all on the HDD (WD Blue) and it's butt-slow during the installs due to time Steam takes for decompression and such. Aside from that though, the games load and run just fine.

On my other main gaming PC (the one I use most) I have all my Steam games on SSD.
There is no such delays like this due the drive speed is super fast. Steam takes mere seconds to finish things, where as before on HDD it took MANY minutes to complete. Doing a game Verify for games on SSD is also very fast.
