Steam game icons constantly turning into globes on WIndows 7
So this is getting really annoying now. I'm using Windows 7 to run quite a few games from Steam, but each time I move an icon's directory, or rename it, or somtimes even just reboot the game icon turns into a globe.

I know it is a common problem and something to do with Microsoft Windows thinking steam:// needs a "globe" icon because its the "internet". Thanks Windows. I've got a batch file that I use to delete the IconCache file, kill explorer and reboot but its really 50/50 as to wether it works or not. Some icons just stay as globes.

So far, the only workaround I've found is to have my own library of icons and manually set the icon to be that (though that sometimes has its own issues, with icons changing size).

Anyone got a fix that would do any of these things:
* Stop the problem happening in the first place
* Work 100% reliably to restore game icons
* Any other ideas at all!

Thanks!

Going to try this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2396571 as I'm getting bored of having to delete IconCache.db every I create a shortcut... I wonder if it will work?

Keep the broken icons on your desktop and for each one go into steam and hit create desktop shortcut and it updates the icon. It worked for me good luck!
