Purchasing a game on ebay

I purchased a game on ebay and come to find out it is register to another Steam account and the seller says it's not his account. What do I do?

Get your money back, the game is of no use to you.

Never buy used games or games at ebay.

You cannot buy second hand PC games. Go through eBay to obtain a refund from the seller. Never buy from unathrorised mediums just to save a bit of money - keys on the likes of eBay are either obtained illegally, are used or have been bought region locked from low-currency countries. They are all essentially useless and if by chance they do work; they'll likely be revoked sometime down the line.

If he's unwilling to return all the your money; certainly raise it with eBay to obtain a full refund outlining everything that happened and report him in the process as a illigitimate seller.

Was this game advertized as new or used? In the latter case, you got what you paid for and your money is wasted.

I really advise you to learn from this and also raise this issue with Ebay, because if this is a item you haven't yet gotten delivered, you can still have the time to request refund by a number of days stated by Ebay.
