Download speed 60KByte/s
My download speed is awful. GTA V needs about 2 weeks - can't be true, right? I googled for an hour, following every hint. Changed download server, connection settings and did a few things I knew before they won't help... My internet connection has 16mbps, usual download speed is around 2 Megabyte/second. That's the value I also get from every online speed test.

So, how to proceed? I won't wait for 2 weeks. This is ridiculous. It's faster to install GTA V from floppy discs. I am new to Steam and disappointed so far. Spend some money on games and cannot download them...

Most funny is, that Steam blocks my entire bandwidth.
Speedtest with Steam closed: 1,9 Megabyte / s
Speedtest with Steam (downloading with 60 KByte/s): 90 Kbyte/s

Speedtest results are in MegaBITS, not bytes.

You should be getting 237.5KB/s tops, so 90KB/s isn't that weird.
EDIT: Except, your download was 60.

Just out of curiousity, are you on wireless? If so, try cord or update your network drivers.

If OP has a 15 MBit connection it would equal 1.875 MByte.

OP, try changing the download server in the settings.

It's not the download region if even Speedtest suffers.

Fair point though, goes to say I didn't look at the whole thing. I mean I did write 90KB/s for downloading process too at first.

He either has to update the network drivers; ensure no one else / nothing else is using the network or contact his/her ISP.

Ok, to align things a little better... my internet speed is 16MBit/s (wrote 15 first, sorry). I get around 15.7 to 15.9 Mbit/s in online speed tests, which is about 1900 KByte/sec. My internet connection is fine - no need to contact my ISP.

My download speed with Steam is 60 KByte/sec, no matter which server I choose. This is a Steam issue. Strange thing is, that Steam blocks my entire bandwidth, although the download speed is awful. Running a speed test while downloading with Steam, I drop to around 0.5 MBit/sec.

I tried to register for support, but I am now waiting for 3 hours for the confirmation mail. Requested a new activation mail, but still - nothing. No mails in my spam folder.
