Username Inquiry

After a scare from my old Freeserve account getting locked (Was a complete lock of all freeserve / orange accounts by a mishap) I managed to speak to customer services at EE and get it open again but its made me want to shift the important stuff to my current E-Mail Providers own E-Mail Address.

I have successfully changed it but at the top of steam between the messages and the square box with the ? (I am assuming because I should put a picture there) its still showing my old E-Mail Address even though in-between "Community" and "About" its showing my first name.

Shouldn't the E-Mail have changed to the new one I provided, if I hover over "Nicholas" it says "Activity, Profile, Friends, Groups" and so on but my old E-Mail that I click says the following "log out, Account Details, Change Language and View Profile" ?

Anyone able to put my mind at ease please.

If you have a really old steam account your username is the original email you signed up with. More recent accounts get to choose their username. In all cases the username cannot be changed.

ah I see, thanks for clearing that up mate. I was forced to make a steam account when I purchased Half Life 2 so I have had the account a good long while. I thought it was extremely pathetic though, having to connect to the internet and play via a middle man for a single player game in the days of dial up.

The only games I have in my steam library after that have been freebies but not really played them either. Besides what came in the HL2 Pack I have 10 extra games, total of 29 in the list.

I probably have the smallest library of any steam user lol.
