Steam games reinstalling themselves automatically?

I submitted a question to steam support but it is taking awhile for them to get back to me, so i thought I'd try here. I have alot of games on steam, but a select few (left 4 dead 2, borderlands 2, dota 2, killing floor, sanctum 2, lego marvel super heroes) will re-install themselves automatically. I right click the title, select delete local content, and it uninstalls, nothing in download. About an hour or so later itll be automatically re-downloading and installing the game again. Ive tried reinstalling steam, installing in different locations, and even a restore of my PC, and nothing i do stops these few games from reinstalling. Id like to free up this space to install other things on my computer. Any help would be appreciated!

You cancel the download.
This is weird, since, this has never happened to me.

I have done that many times. Wether i leave steam open, or exit steam, restart my computer, whatever, within an hour or so the game automatically starts reinstalling

The only way ive found to alleviate this is to "pause" the downloads for all of those games mentioned, and just leave them partially downloaded. If I uninstall, or stop the download, it reinstalls. so I have 6 games in my list stuck on "update queued" status.
