3D Reals Anthology... Commander Keen
Hey peeps. So I saw the picture of Commander Keen on the advertisments for the 3D realms anthology bundle only to find out that Commander Keen was not included in the bundle .... How do i take this up with steam. Don't really want my money back so much as there are some other good games included, but what made it worth the $30 pricetag was that Keen would be included ....which it is clearly not. False advertising?

Have you contacted the support?
Doesn't really fit under any catagories. I wan't to know if it was an oversight and it can be added. Of if it was a mistake in which case I should probably be offered a refund
I saw the 3D Realms Anthology store page yesterday, & on that page there's a list of all the games included in the bundle. You didn't read the page's info, did you? If you had, you would've seen that the game wasn't included. It's not Valve's fault that you didn't bother to read & understand what you were buying. There was no false advertising involved. Look at the page again. http://store.steampowered.com/sub/61948/
Yeah thanks genius. Lucky your here or we would all be lost little souls. They have a picture of commander keen and its a large bundle. It's not a big stretch of the imagination to presume it would be a part of that bundle.

Suggest you steer clear of the help section as it's not your natural strong point.

key word in your response is "presume". Never presume. Read! Know what the hell your buying. It isn't that hard to read a simple list of titles of games that's included in the bundle. Hell, even my neighbor's kid can do that, & that kid is 5. Now, seeing as you're either unwilling or unable to read, *I* suggest that *YOU* steer clear of the Steam store. It's not your natural strong point.

Depends on how you look at false advertising.

I remember when Steam accidentally had a picture of a Dragon Age/Dragon Age II bundle after DAII was removed, and used it for a deal of the day or something for Dragon Age 1. Totally fine, right? I mean it's just a picture advertising the game, so that can't be construed as false advertising, now can it?

It is false advertising.
And the way to deal with it is work with the support.

Actually, it isn't. As I stated before in this thread, there's a list of what's included in the bundle. Nowhere does it mention Commander Keen. Now, it would be one thing if they DID list Commander Keen in there & you didn't get it, THEN you'd have a case for false advertising.

It visually shows Commander Keen in the header. That is advertising right there. That is in fact since it appears right on the home page the first point of advertising.
Well, by all means, call Valve or send a support ticket then. They'll just reiterate what I've been saying all along. Ultimately this should just be a learning experience, that you actually need to read & comprehend what you're buying.

Well to point out my previous mention of Dragon Age, Valve had to fix the image. Despite everything you said being pretty much the same scenario. Now why would they do that? Why indeed?

See, there seems to be a major difference between you (& the O.P.) and me I read the store pages, get all the details, etc. to make an informed decision about a purchase, while you 2 just take a quick look at a picture, ignore everything else, & basically say "Ooooh! I like the picture! SOLD!" That's not a good way to go about things.
It's all in your name Rageinator. Consumer rights says I have a right to a refund, end of story. My other Problem ReBoot is that I cannot select the game through the support page as it does not appear in the search. Therefore I can go no further through the steam support process. Is there a direct email or alternate method?
Who said I don't read the details on the pages of games I buy? I thought you were the guy who said never presume.

If you HAD read the details in the 3D Realms Anthology page, you would see that nowhere in the list of 32 games does it list Commander Keen. That list is rather specific & detailed, so....
