V Sync and Anti Aliasing
Greetings people, I am just curious about the impact of both these features on frames per second, I understand both's function, I just want to clarify their effect on overall frames per second.

I believe they cause overall FPS drop right? Can someone explain to me why more or less, thanks.

VSync doesn't matter as long as your card delivers faster than your monitor refresh rate. If it doesn't, you're gonna lose many FPS. As for AA, it depends. There are cheap techniques, there are expensive techniques

So assuming I get your meaning right, if the refresh rate of the monitor is less than the capacity for output of the card, then turning V-sync on will allow higher fps. If it is indifferent, then having it on just wastes resources because the frame rate is less than the refresh rate essentially doing nothing?

Turning VSync on won't allow more FPS. It will lock your FPS to your monitor's refresh rate. Which sure as hell doesn't allow higher FPS! It only prevents tearing.
