All source games share one bound key option that I want unbound but it is unlisted and I can't find anything.
As the title says, whenever I hit the "Ctrl" key it activates whatever the "S" key is bound to. As you can see this is a problem for games reliant on "Ctrl" for modifying key inputs.

What happens if you set ctrl and s to different things in control setting ingame?
Glad you asked no matter what the "S" key is bound to as long as "Ctrl" is bound at all it will always also activate the "S" Key.
I have reinstalled steam altogether, as well as deleted all steam related registries, and yet somehow it still is bound.
It might be not source games but your computer doing it.
Because i never met that in various source games i have.

If the setting says for each button a different action, it should work.

When did it start to happen?
A year or so ago, across more than one reinstallation of the OS. I am almost positive it's a globally saved bound key in source engine, however I have been searching all over and can't find it. Also it only occurs in source games all others act normally.
What changed when it started to happen?
What game for example?
I believe I first started noticing it in portal 2, it's been a while so I can't remember the origin only that it has been around.
In default
s is backwards
ctrl is duck.

So its unlikely that they are bound. I tested it here. Works as expected.
Which is exactly my problem, no source game lists the controls as bound that way.
What happens if you choose reset buttons to default?
Nothing at all, I think I modded it in some halflife mod so I could crouch jump better but I have no clue what I did.
Check what you loaded for a mod.
Read how to reverse it.
Or verify game cache files with steam?
Tried all the above, nothing works I just want to know if source has a unified keybinding that would be stored in the cloud.
Its strange that several games are affected by this.
Usually it would only take to make a config or an autoexec config for a game.

So your question is valid. You should make it more clear that its related to a modding though. In the headline.
The problem is though, I no longer even have the mod. I haven't for a while now, I am actually just trying to play Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.
