Acer Laptop suddenly lagging/stuttering in every game! Help please :(
I've been reading and searching for a fix for this problem in days, and the closest i got to my problem, was this thread http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2385550/games-lag-untill-reinstall-nvidia-graphic-rebooting.html

Like it says...
I play with no lag for like 7-8 min, and then lag and such will suddenly just show up....
Close and reopen the game wont remove the lag, but if i do reinstall my nvidia graphics drivers, im able to play again 7-8 min, and then all over again.

Acer Aspire V3-772G

Specs:
CPU: Intel Core I7-4702MQ 2.2GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3,2GHz
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 760M
OS: Windows 8.1
RAM: 8 GB

8GB DDR3 L Memory

60 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD

And if i disable my Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 in the devicemanager, the lag gets even worse, so i suppose it's choosing my "integrated graphcs card", instead of my GTX 760M ?

Do you have any booster software. Like iobit, or ccleaner.
In what state is your power usage.
Is it lag like in internet or lag in FPS drops.

Fixed it. There was a mdm.exe process in task manager. Closed it, and everything worked again :)

While that can be a Microsoft process, it can also be a virus. You may wish to scan your computer with antivirus/antimalware just to be safe.

It's a microsoft process. I scanned my computer, and found nothing. disabled it in the IE settings, and never seen it again :)

Thanks for your advice though! :thumb:

Hello ! This thread is from 2015, and ive got totally different pc specs today.

But through out the years ive experienced other things affecting fps.
I once had a bitcoinminer from downloading an Online Patch for Call of Duty World at War.
It would hide itself in the taskmanager, if i opened it. Super smart.
I had to detect it through Windows Powershell and remove it through Malware Bytes.

Id recommend to do a virus scan, as its shown that it can affect your processingpower, if something bad runs in the background.

Else, id check up on the graphical drivers of yours. Make sure everythings up to date.

I had this problem (threadwise) on my laptop. Incase youre on a laptop as well, make sure youre using your dedicated graphics card, and not some integrated Intel Family Chip card as GPU.

Also, incase its a laptop, make sure power settings allow the application to run as intended :)

Keep in mind that the menu it self is not "the game" or rendered or anything, but simply an interface to determine what to load.

So once its loaded in, you get the problems as described.
I assume youve run the game previously without any problems ?

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
