Cannot log in to steam app
I can log in to steam online (obviously), but when I try to log in via the app so I can play my games that I have bought it says:

Steam Warning
steam is having trouble connecting to Steam servers

I have been contacted be a steam rep, which took over a month. I have been waiting since before Christmas and today is when I was contacted. However, none of the information worked and I was very displeased with the lack of care for my situation. Especially since Steam has my money and I cannot play my games. (I think this is called stealing...)

I just need someone to help me fix this so I can play. Thanks

Attempt this:

  1. Head over to
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\
  2. Right mouse click Steam.executable
    • Choose "Make a shortcut"
  3. Right mouse click the new shortcut (Steam.lnk - or the like.)
    • Properties -> [General] -tab
    • Target
    • Add -tcp to the end so it looks like
      "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -tcp
  4. Launch Steam with the shortcut.

I have also tried going through all of this, and while the -tcp thing worked for me one day, as soon as I turned my computer off for the night and came back it is back to not working. (the -tcp is still on there, it just doesn't seem to do anything now)

same here.. :( I did that "-tcp" thing, but my problem is i kept on getting disconnected and reconnected every second. My internet connection is alright. I've never had this problem before and it's frustrating me.
