What can I run???

So I've had steam for atleast 2 years. Now I've only been able to play one game (march of war with my windows 7 looking like windows 2000.) Ive tried most free to play(only MoW works well) games because im afraid that i'll spend money and it wont work. here is my computer info:

Processor: AMD Sempron(tm) 140 Processor 2.70Ghz
Ram: 3.00 (2.75 gb usable)
System type: 64-bit
Graphic card: Nvidia GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

I dont have a clue what any of this mean (being Ignorant to anything that has to do with computers) But there is a system requirement tab at the bottom of the game, but seeing how I can Star Wars the Old Rebublic fine with this computer (on the lowwest graphic settings) what games could I run on steam? I love the team community (even though Ive had nothing to add) and the idea of a game hub where you can be playing a diffrent game with the same friends (even though I have one friend who happens to be my brother who doesnt play steam often.) Could someone who's a wiz at the stuff help? thanks-

I have a terrible PC and they work on my PC.

Also some Flash based games, however you'll want to check out the community hub to see if anybody reports lag for that particular game.

Some flash games are unoptimized.
