Cant open Shift+Tab menu in game

When I play a game, I can't send messages, look at the market. I can't open the Shift+Tab menu, it says that i have to turn it on but it have been on all the time I have checked.
PS: I have a Mac

I think you may have to enable it, go to "Steam" at the top right of the screen, and click settings.
Go to "In-Game" and enable the "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game" It should work after that.
