Error adding friend, please try again

So im trying to add a friend of mine and steam tells me "Error adding friend , please try again " every single time . I've bought steam games from the store too and the problem is still here. Any suggestion? I also tried blocking and unblocking and it still doesnt work,

Steam sometimes has server issues. Or your friendlist getting full. Time for a cleanup?

Im not sure about now how many we can add, old numbers where 250/300 and +5 for every level. Maybe somebody can explain this better. Never felt the urge to add 3 digit number of friends.

It could mean that they have blocked you.

EDIT: It will also give you that message if you add someone then unadd them before they accept it.

it happens to everyone i want to add and i asked them and they said they didnt block me

well if you can't seem to figure it out after trying all that then I would suggest opening a ticket.

You can only send one request every few days. So don't send a request, remove it, then resend it, because it won't work. You will get an error message when you spam the request. You will also get the error message if they blocked you. I suggest telling your friend to instead add you and have you accept it.
