50Hz vs 60Hz refresh rate
Well i am playing 60fps games on 50Hz TV for almost three years. So my question is because i saw some thread and since then i keep thinking about it:Would i only see difference in smoothness of games, because this is smooth enough for me,or also i would get better perfomance with 60hz?Because if so,if i am not getting good enough perfomance with 50hz,i would maybe buy new monitor, but i don't want to waste money if not necessary.

60Hz is considered to be the standard refresh rate for gaming today, depends how much money you're willing to spend. Personally I'd just wait until you get a new TV, I wouldn't say it's an urgent upgrade.
Well, do YOU notice a problem? No? Then there is none.

It was kinda weird for me when i saw that my TV is 50Hz cause i spend about 900 euros for it 3 years ago,but my question was, while playing 60fps game with 50Hz does this 10 frames affect my game perfomance or just smoothness i mean,i got used to it,so i need to ask,but now it bugs me so i keep staring on tv ,trying to find if it's slu ttering or not,and it really annoys me xD

Well i didn't,but yesterday i saw thread and since then while playing games,i am watching all the time for some slu ttering problems or something, and it really annoys me,i just need someone to tell me if that affect only smoothess like difference between 30 fps and above,or does it affect perfomance(which is more important to me).

Isn't 50 Hz a PAL standard? If that's what all of the TVs in your area are like, there isn't much to do about it. 50 Hz is 10 less refreshes per second, but the difference isn't that great compared to 60 Hz. Most games are quite playable even on 30 FPS.
I'm actually surprised the TV doesn't do 60Hz, but that's beyond the scope of this thread.

50fps is considered smooth enough by several countries around the the world -- particularly those that run their TV programming on 50Hz. Or even just 25, with HDTV and all that..

There isn't much to say, really. The game doesn't (or shouldn't) output 60fps to a 50fps device -- if it does, it WOULD stutter or tear, simply because the game would output 6 images while the device only displays 5. In one way or another, that will cause visual artifacts.

If, however, the game correctly outputs 50fps then everything is fine. Which will happen automatically if you enable VSync: enabling VSync adjusts the game output to the device, disabling VSync makes the game output as much as it can, possibly causing tearing on the screen (meaning the display shows the upper half of an image, and the lower half of the next image -- when there's movement, especially fast horizontal moves, the difference between those two can be noticeable as things will basically be cut somewhere in the middle, with the upper and lower parts not being in the same places).

I run games on 60fps with vsync on so my refresh rate is 60Hz?

Some say, 60hz is bad. You need 120hz.....
So, stop thinking, and play like you did for 3 years.
Have fun.

If you buy a new monitor, get one with 120hz (real), 2ms delay, ....... and you have to choose wisely.
Its not worth it if you dont mind. 50hz or 60hz is not enough to throw money at it.

Read the manual. Or type sign.

50 or 60 is not a difference. Dont buy a 60hz monitor.

Old monitors with bulbs, under 85hz you got headache.
Flatscreens and television is ok under 85hz. But if you buy one, take full 120hz

Well on the back of the tv it says 50Hz but some guy told me that's not it.Also if purpose of vsync is to set frames on your refresh rate, how's that possible then.I am confused. And i can't find anything in manual...And if i decide to buy one i'll get 120Hz,2ms then..

If it says 50, its 50.....
Choosing the right monitor gives you headaches as well...... Its not that easy. Its not just a number. Several numbers, and then its glowy or who knows what.
Thats why i say: If you are happy, stay happy
Wait, 50hz?
Is that the electricity hz?

Read the manual about refreshrate.
