Steam I do not run my shows error after installation and update "Failed to load SteamUI.dll" my CPU is Amd Semprom 2600+ im using Windows 7 Ultimate x86 how to fix guys ? a few days ago everything was fine now began removing this error ..

i have unpack the old version but i delete steam.cfg run it steam.exe and out me error steamui.dll and steam client bootstraper has not working bla bla ... and what do I do then? where fine ClientRegistry.blob ? i dont see ..

You should unpack old client version before.

If you tried the old version of the client, and the problem appears Failed to load SteamUI localization file because of the difference in the used language - I'm afraid I can not help.
I have only 1 backup version, Changing the language will lead to downloading the new version, which does not start.

I've found old solution for problem Failed to load SteamUI localization file :

Just had this problem and fixed it, just do this and should be fine. First you should close off steam, then go to where you installed Steam (for most users C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam OR C:\Program Files\Steam).

Delete the following files (back them up somewhere just to be sure): ClientRegistry.blob, steamclient.dll, SteamUI.dll; and then restart steam. It should download whatever necessary files to replace those you deleted and you should retain all your purchased/downloaded games.

If you got this error on old client version from backup - try to delete ClientRegistry.blob
(back it up somewhere just to be sure)

Same problem for me. I have updated my old computer today and now i always have the steamiu.dll error even after trying to reinstall steam, set the steam.cfg file, addinf paameters to the shorcut, deleting steamui.dll ... Damn!

0) Close / exit from your STEAM client (not logout - close program).

2) Download old client archive.
3) Unpack files from folder STEAM_client_backup_2014-12-05 to your STEAM folder.
3.a) as an option - not overwrite the files in the folder \bin\ i.e. leave there a new version of the files.

4) "steam.cfg" is already included in the archive, you no need create it, no need delete it.
5) Try to start Steam.

Super steambased I went .. I installed the new version, update to update 133mb then the old backup copies all without let steambased bin folder, but give me a error .. 4 times for one file filesystem_stdio.dll,vgui2_s.dll,friendsui.dll,serverbrowser.dll,steamservice i copied on old archive start steam and he started! Thanks for your help !

Happened to me again today. Tried every solution I could find including deleting the blob file and running numerous ultilities which found nothing. I have an AMD. Just wanted to say that what worked was deleting a folder (yep, the whole folder) called cached:

C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steam\cached


I don't know if it was a combination of deleting the blob file and cached folder, or just the cached folder, but I'm back up and running.

Guys, is it possible that symantec is causing the steamui error?
