Running Programs Starting with .bat files
So, I have this open-source program called Sauerbraten that starts using a .bat file in its main directory, but that opens the exe for it in the \bin directory, so it will only briefly flash that I'm playing Sauerbraten and then will simply say that I'm online. Any way to add it so that it starts with the bat, but keeps the exe added as well through the same shortcut?

Rewrite the bsatchfile to pause after you launch the game.
have you figured out how to do this because I am having the same problem to add my civ 1 game to my library in steam it only reads it as a .BAT file
Open the Batchfile in notepad and find where the command to launch the program is then add "pause" on the next line.

Right-click, "Open with...", Notepad. Was that so hard?

I just said that It wont allow me to do it !!
No need for the language. Care to explain why it won't allow you to do it?

Try taking a screenshot of it, and upload it to some image hosting site. If you post it here, maybe we could help you better.

What happens when you browse to the folder containing the bat file, select it, right click it, and choose Open with... and then select Notepad from the dialog?

OR... open notepad and go to the folder that the .bat file is in and open it from notepad (may need to change the 'Open' file types to All from *.txt
jast install notepad++ it open any files, with any .ext
enable show all files + ext in win explorer or navigate use FarManager 3.x - it can operate with superhidden files and folders
