Gifts from russian to EU region?
Hi guys, I have a question. I live in EU, so obviously my steam region is set to EU. But I have a family member in Russia whose steam store is set to RU region, and therefore he can get games cheaper than I. My question is - would it be ok (and working) for him to send me games as a gift? Mind, there's no trading involved. So, say he wants to buy me a game for Christmas - can he do that in his Russian steam store and send it to me? Will he still pay the Russian price for it? Or would that be impossible due to some region locks?

Sorry if this was already answered, but I just wanted to stress that in our situation, there wouldn't be any trading involved, which I assume is against the rules. Thank you very much for any advice!

If the game has regional lock restrictions, you may not be able to install it on your account.

Nearly all Steam Games from Russia are either Activation/Play locked or both to russian IPs.
Your family member can buy the game and send it to you, but in 99% you wont be able to activate or play it.
Thats for the reason you already stated in your opening post: games are much cheaper on Steam Russia.
