I was just going to try activating the new key, but seen threads that said something to the effect of "you already have the game in your library", and the activation wouldn't work.
Long story: Although you can contact Steam Support in order to get the original Dirt 2 removed, if you try to activate a new key, they'll just wind up giving you exactly the same key/GFWL activation as they did before.
I just now tried to contact support, but none of the dropdown menu items were applicable to my request. I just selected one so I could make a request. In turn, I just get an automated generic response.
In regards to steam support, will a human actually read, and respond to my request?
When in Steam you can view your (old) gfwl / productkey - use that to contact microsoft/xbox-live support and recover your old account / let them clear up the mess.
Another option would be to create a second steam-acc and activate the game on that one. then use the gfwl key to register the game on your new xbox-live account. Then use your first account to play the game and login with your new xbox-live account. steam will not care which xbox account you login.
I will definitely give those suggestions a try :)
I thank you again for the suggestions, JCDenton :)
