Network Issues - 5GHZ
Hi All,

I've just upgraded my internet provider, and am currently using a Virgin Media Super hub 2, am am using the 5ghz band.

Prior to upgrading, I was getting 4mb/s downloading. However, now, I'm getting around 12mb/s. BUT, the download keeps queuing. I'll start it, and after a few minutes, it will stop itself and tell me that an "update is required".

Any assistance? I haven't set up any port forwarding on the new router, but I'm not sure what the IP address needed is. Also, I've already tried the swapping download locations.

Thanks,
Alex

Tried that, but the Superhub Port Forwarding requires an IP starting with 192.168.0.(?)

The last bit is a variable, apparently, and I have no idea what it means.

Thanks, by the way!

DOСSIS modems are very limited in their functions and most importantly, most of the settings is getting from "head" modem / server installed at the ISP

Usually, if you need to configure Internet access for multiple devices, use a separate router, input in the settings data (login password or adress DNS alternate DNS | Radius servers | Default Gateway, etc.), received from the ISP, and then adjust everything else
but this model have built-in router - find istruction for this router + instruction from your ISP

192.168.x.x is Subnet Class C - local network

You should not need any port forwarding unless running a server that you want people to connect to from the internet (not needed that for downloading or updates).

The higher the frequency, the more it tends to get absorbed by solid objects, which can limit range. So if signal strength is marginal at 5 GHz, maybe you are getting intermittent signal.

Even with weak wireless-n (78 Mbps WiFi speed) I get 20-25 Mbps internet on our small office cable (which on ethernet is faster than its advertised 50/10 Mbps).

That's another weird thing. Apparently, I'm reading full signal.. It's saying that the download is corrupt, am I not going to be able to use it?
