Steam keeps disconnecting and reconnection over powerline Ethernet?

So I'm in a WiFi deadspot because the router is on the other side of the house. So what I decided to do is to buy a homeplug Ethernet adapter (TP Link PA2010KIT). Everything has been working fine so far but one of my friends told me while I was playing Metro 2033, that it kept saying that "(C.O.N) ESR is now playing Metro 2033". I looked and sure enough the chat showed I disconnected and recconected many times. In fact, I just saw it happen right now. It's only a little blip but it still disconnect. I'm worried what this means for online gaming. So I thought I would ask you guys.

Is there a reason it's doing this over the homeplug Ethernet? Is it known for this? I'm currently in a state where I can't directly connect.

Any help would be awesome!

How often does this happen? I notice it disconnecting after a while of inactivity.

It's random. One interval I noticed was about 10 minutes. Now it hasn't been happening for about 15 after I restarted Steam.

I have Charter Communications. I live in semi rural area with a city about 30 miles away.

I would try calling them and asking if your kind of setup would be prone to miniscule, random blips in service. Unlike a web browser, Steam is constantly connecting, and so even the smallest disconnects could cause something like this.

But if it's not affecting your gaming or anything other than being an annoyance, you might just ignore it and tell your friends to as well.

Thanks. It doesn't seem to be doing it now after I restarted Steam. At least not that I can see.

But I'll also see how it affects my online gaming as well.
