After connecting my laptop to my TV via HDMI, my laptop display is blue-tinted / darker
So, tonight I've been testing out some of my games when connected to my HDTV and using Steam Big Picture. However, I noticed at one point that when I duplicated the displays, what was showing on my laptop was slightly darker, or like there's a mild blue tint to everything, or that there's a bit more contrast in general. It doesn't necessarily look 'bad' but it's quite off-putting. I'm not sure exactly when it started, but it was VERY noticeable when playing Soul Reaver (1).

This persisted after disconnecting the TV and restarting my laptop. I've got them both hooked up again now and it's quite noticeable on this page:

1. The blue hue on thread backgrounds is quite darker
2. My taskbar, which is grey as it should be on my TV, is kind of blue on my laptop
3. This text is noticeably 'whiter' on my TV
4. The greens on this screen ('pinned' and the 'post discussion') button seem slightly brighter than on my TV, so it may just be contrast cranked up.
5. Chrome's usually bright bookmarks bar now has a metallic blue-grey hue
6. Similarly, facebook in general is just a tad darker

I'm on Windows 8.1, Intel HD graphics for the OS, NVIDIA GeForce 840M for games.

Though i doubt it's a huge deal, the fact I don't know exactly what caused it and the fact it just happened by connecting HDMI, and, well, the difference, has me really unnerved. Googling just brings up people having issues with their secondary display, not their primary one.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: I just remembered that when I restarted, it seemed fine for a few seconds and around the time my desktop icons appeared it faded back to this, so it seems like it's an 'adaptive' thing that bugged out but I don't see any buttons for changing contrast on my laptop's keyboard, only brightness.
