Make him file a support ticket here asking for an email change. He should provide a new email he knows and proof of purchase related to his account. It should go smooth from here.

Is it because Steam Guard sends his code to an email he doesn't remember ?

If so, he should first try to remember said email and its password. Failing that, my first post applies.

if hotmail there is id on who he is... thats a microsoft issus, but that is allso a problem...

try open browser with live id sign inn sometimes then people sit infront of screen that help them to add info...
