Apparently this can be caused by ad blocking software, as mentioned in this post. If you use an ad blocker I would disable it temporarily and see if that resolves the issue.

how do you disable it?
There are many different ad blockers, it would depend on which (if any) you are using. For a Firefox plugin for example, you would click the menu icon on the far right hand side of the toolbar, choose "Add-Ons", and then press "Disable" next to the relevant plugin. Standalone programs would have to be either closed, or perhaps even choose a setting in the program to disable it. It's also possible the ad blocker is part of another program.

Without knowing the specifics, that's the best I can offer, sorry.

I should point out one more caveat: 105 does not absolutely mean ad blocker problems. It means the DNS for Steam failed to resolve. You could try the following:

  • Press the Windows Key + R to open the "Run" prompt
  • Type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter

Fairly small chance this will resolve your problem, but it can't hurt to try. You should also make sure that Steam is allowed through any firewall you run.

Same. All the fixes I've tried have failed. Uninstalling didn't work. I don't know what to do, I'm at my wits end...

I don't know is there anyone still got this issues but I just had and solved it. I reached my modem interface and changed DNS Addresses. I'm using "8.8.8.8" "8.8.4.4" "8.8.8.4" Addresses right now. Maybe it can help you too... Let me know if it works out with you
