Charge but no game?
I was trying to purchase the game killing floor, but it was saying my card was being declined because funds were put on "hold". Later i was charged the 4.99 for the game but it's saying i still haven't purchased it. What do i do?

How long ago did you try making the purchase? This may apply:
Why was I charged twice for my purchase or charged for a purchase that says it failed?

In both of these cases, when a purchase fails one of the banking fraud checks, your bank may place a hold on the funds for up to 5 business days. These funds will not be collected by Valve. Please contact your bank to see if they will release the held funds.

If you still see a pending charge after 5 business days, please contact Steam Support so that we can investigate and help resolve the issue with your bank.

If it's only been 30 minutes, follow the instructions in my post above. The funds are probably just on hold and will be released back within 5 business days.

Ok she called her bank, and they said the funds were released?

I had a similar experience. I saw a promotion for Bioshock infinite when I opened steam. I clicked the link and purchased it with a Paypal account. No download. I got an email from Paypal stating that the money was sent to Valve. But no download. I contacted steam support and am waiting for a response but thought I'd give this a try.

same here, i tried the paypal account and that was declined. Then i tried the card by itself without paypal and it was declined as well, but i was charged for the purchase

I'm not sure if I'd say my paypal was "declined" because that word never appeared anywhere. When I went back the game was in my cart but was not purchased. I know the money left my account, but no game was recieved. Not cool steam.. You kinda just took my money and left me hanging here.......

Is it possible that when there's a deal that's popular and everyone is jumping on it that the POS system on their end gets bogged down and sending download permissions fall through the cracks?

I guess its possible yeah. It's aggrivating as hell though

But I'm just wildly speculating here. The point is: What can we do other than make a request in steam support?

Here's the reply I got:

Hello Michael,

Thank you for contacting Steam Support.

Our records indicate that PaySafeCard reported this transaction as failed and has not sent the funds to us for this purchase.

We would be happy to research the charges for you and contact PaySafeCard directly on your behalf to confirm the status of this payment. To do so, we will need a screenshot of the transaction as shown on your PaySafeCard account.

Please visit the following website http://www.paysafecard.com and click on "View Credit" on the left. A pop-up window opens where you can enter your PIN code for your paysafecard and the Security-Check information.

Click on submit and go to "Your Payments". Under “Details” please click on “+show”. Please provide a screenshot of the information listed under this tab.

Follow the appropriate link below for information on screenshots:

As soon as we have this information from you we will be able to assist you further.

It doen't make sense to me. To my knowledge, I didn't use Paysafecard.com. I used a Paypal account. The money has now cleared my bank account and my Paypal account says that the money went through.
