1.7 patch cod4

so i downloaded cod4 and all was well, then all the servers i like vanished because patch 1.7 was put on by steam....how do i get this patch off? i hate the game and the servers now! i turn of Mods in Filter and it make no difference all the servers have mods i Don't want Mod games it's doing my nut in, i also dont like the get shoot your out of the game and sit there waiting the next match... i want the old Original cod 4

it must of updated the same day i got it... 2 days ago ... I'm finding servers where there is 20 or more people on only to go to the server and there is no one on there but me

I just tried it. All seems normal.
There are some servers which might create a redirect, so you would end up allways on them.

7000 servers, a lot of people playing.

Dont forget to press REFRESH when starting the game to join a server

The number changes often.
There are filters. For example only punbuster, all, off......
Can you play now after refreshing the list?

Make sure to read the displayed rules of a server. Maybe you have a wrong equipment.

Can't be that i was kicked of some before even entering the game...i was waiting for the next round to spawn..but was vote kick off.... it don't make sense at all, i can click filters to get up as many servers at pos and still only see 3260 some i can get on all hardcore mod though, i just wanna get back to how the game we when it first came out, but dont know how
