1.7 patch cod4

so i downloaded cod4 and all was well, then all the servers i like vanished because patch 1.7 was put on by steam....how do i get this patch off? i hate the game and the servers now! i turn of Mods in Filter and it make no difference all the servers have mods i Don't want Mod games it's doing my nut in, i also dont like the get shoot your out of the game and sit there waiting the next match... i want the old Original cod 4

all the server are mod servers i can not get onto my fav server Area51 it isn't listed at all any more in the list

What defines a mod? What are you looking for not to be there?

Maybe that server is not on anymore?

no its online but not with patch 1.7 i need to find away to get back to 1.6 i may try reinstalling again, though it takes 11 hours to download, then turn off updates
