Cant install Steam WIZARD ERROR!

Hey so I just wanted to do 2 things: introduce myself and ask for help. HI IM BOGIRO don't judge the name because that is my brother's account, I'm a girl. What? Yea I play videogames >_< So now that you know me, please help D: with this:
I have issues installing Steam because when I try to install it, the wizard pops up but when I reach the step where it says DESTINATION FOLDER and I click INSTALL (at the very last step right after I select my language and accept the terms of agreement), a window pops up and it says:

"Error opening file for writing:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe
Click Retry to try again, or
Cancel to stop the installation."

Please help me solve this I really wanna try Steam ):
other useful info: It says the destination folder is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam" and also I'm on an HP laptop that has Windows 7

First, does the target folder already exist, by any chance? Second, did a UAC prompt pop up before installation?

Did user account control ask for a confirmation or password like ReBoot said?
And does the drive where you want to install Steam have any free space?

Edit: I just saw that this post is from 2014 so I don't think this will help a lot...
