Still, you might need to make a support ticket. I don't currently see a way to make Steam send a mail if you only know the profile link of an account.
The fact that you have access to this account doesn't mean much, but it will help Steam support to see where the gift went. They can then try to work with you to find something to proof that it is your account.
If you use Autofill on your browser, maybe you can find your account name you typed to login to steam.
You can also find your username by going to your Steam folder: c/program files/steam/steamapps and the under your common folder.
