Registering existing games with Windows Registry and creating appropriate Start Menu shortcut using Steam?
So I formatted my HDD recently and reinstalled steam. I preserved the SteamApps folder so all games are there. Except, they no longer appear under Uninstall Program options in Control Panel and Start Menu, for obvious reasons.

When I installed them the first time from Disk/Download, they created appropriate entries in Windows Registry (thus appearing under Uninstall Program options in Control Panel) and Start Menu shortcuts under Steam.

Is there any way I can do that to existing games without reinstalling all over again? I realize Steam can fix Desktop Shortcuts but can Steam do this too?

It's not a terrible bother because I can play the games just fine. Just want it fully restored the way it was.

(Also I know how to manually make Shortcuts. I just want Steam to do it.)

Just verify the files for each game and they'll reappear in add/remove programs the next time you launch them.
