Borderlands the pre-sequel won't launch
Basically I Just launched the game and after installing the directx thing nothing appeared to happen. After doing it a few times I noticed that it said that I was playing the game for a second and then just went back not playing it. If you know a fix please help me as I was really excited to play the game only for it to not work. Thanks.

Ps I am currently re-installing the game to see if that fixes the issue.

You might also want to try verifying your cache.

Open up your Games Library and right-click the game. Select Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache. This will scan the file for the game already on your computer. If there's any problem, it will say "x files failed to validate and will be reacquired."

I managed to fix it. if you have borderlands 2. try uninstalling that and re-installing it. that seemed to work for me.

Thanks for the advice! Although I managed to fix it in a different way: running the game from the game’s folder. And it worked! :)

Just had this problem, fixed it by launching Borderlands 2 and exiting. After that Pre-Sequel launched fine.

Similar problem here. Oddly the game worked for a few days, then I installed another game on Uplay and BL:TPS stopped working. I figured it was a Visual C++ corruption, so I navigated to ...

Steam>steamapps>common>BorderlandsPreSequel>Binaries>Redist and double clicked vcredist_x86_vs2010sp1.exe

This launched the installer which gave me the option to repair, which I did. The installer did its thing, then I went back to the Steam Client and clicked Play. Worked.

I suppose the same could have been done from the Control Panel>Uninstall A Program. Anyway, hope this helps someone else.

Try:
1. Sifting through the local files and find the launcher.exe. Then, run as administrator.
2. Verify cache.
3. Run the vcredist_x86_vs2010sp1.exe found in the local files.
4. Uninstall and reinstall.
