.NET Framework Shutdown Loop
Hello.

I am posting this message in regards to an issue with the Microsoft .NET Framework set-up installer.

It seems that each time the installer runs, for any game, it will tell me that I have a same or newer version of .NET, and, upon clicking "Close," which is the only available option besides saving a log of this message, another window appears telling me Windows will be shutting down in a few minutes.

Sure enough, the system will begin shutting down and closing all programs, and there is no way I know of to prevent this.

In addition, immediately upon system start-up after the reboot, this same installer will appear again and will cause another shutdown unless the process is terminated via Task Manager.

I first thought this was a problem with the installer for Aliens: Colonial Marines, as that game has had a lot of issues associated with it, but attempting to launch Hawken recently resulted in the same issue.

I don't want my games unplayable because of this insipid issue, and I can't believe it hasn't been fixed yet.

Any help would be appreciated. I'll post system specs and such if asked. Also may try deleting the installers themselves and hope a re-download will fix it.

Thank you for your time,
-M.
