Controller
Hello everyone,
I'm planning to buy a controller for my PC, but only for two games, Euro Truck Simulator, and F1 2013.I'm not richest guy in the world, I've selected a controller, named SPEEDLINK STRIKE, a wired controller(I hate wireless controllers, mouses, keyboards, etc.).Is that controller compatible with these two games, or not?
Thanks for the answer.

You should use an Xbox 360 controller because that's what Steam supports.

Steam has almost nothing to do with that, except for Big Picture Mode. It's the games that generally like the XBox360 pad more than anything else.

Indeed.

It should be. I had a Speedlink controller before and it worked with Need for Speed or Test Drive games.
However is not recommended. Speedlink is cheaply made, has driver issues and many games you need to manually set up. Also in overall I don't recommend a Playstation styled button layout, a X-Box layout is much better supported, especially in newer games, more comfortable and should be compatible with Steam Big Picture.
I really recommend to save up for a wired original X-Box 360 controller, even if only a used one. Its durable, you dont need any drivers and almost all games auto-detect and automatically set up the best button layout. I never regretted my 26 euros what I gave for it.

Yeah, thanks for the help guys, I really need to get more money, because a 2500HUF(~9€) controller wouldn't be an expensive, but as i see everyone is prefering XBOX 360 style controller, wich is 7500HUF(~25€), so, with my new microphone it would near 35€.
Thanks for everything again.

If you have an old PS2/PS3 (Dualshock) controller or playstation style simillair, you can use SCP drivers.[emulation-general.wikia.com] (Dualshock > XBOX controller)
Just saying

Is it Strike (Click me)?[www.speedlink.com], or Strike FX (Click me)?[www.speedlink.com]

Strike FX mentions support for xinput (should work out of the box with that) but Strike does not.

For Strike, you might want to use SCP drivers, or xpadder.

Sadly I don't have old PS2 or PS3 controller, the DualShock 2 is better than the 3, I used it many time and i hate DualShock 3, and it's more expensive than an XBOX 360 controller (DS3: 15.000HUF(50€), XBOX 360(38€))

Speedlink Strike, not the FX, it's double the price.

Use SCP drivers, your device will be recognised as 360 controller.
