How do I force off ambient occlusion?
ambient occlusion Looks AWFUL in dark souls 2 and other games I own so I want to force It off on all my games.

I need to know how I can force this off,maybe with a control panel or other program,because even when its off in game I still see it so it must be forced on by something.

I need help of some kind I cant play games like this.

I have a amd card.

use the nvidia or amd drivers to force it off

nvidia
control panel -> nvidia control panel
3d settings -> manage 3d settings
global settigns -> ao = off

amd will be similar
run ccc
game settigns -> global
find ao and off

There is no option for AO in ccc (unless I am missing something)

no ao setting
You can't force it off through NVidia or CCC, since the AO you're referring to is done by the game :) You could look through the game's .ini/whatever files and see if it's in there somewhere..
Are you sure (since you stated you turned it off) you're not seeing prebaked shadow maps or something, instead of AO? Some games uses both dynamic shadows, prebaked ones and AO to create a rich environment..
U can't force it off; it is a rendering method some games use. And is handled from within the game. Some games may have hidden settings within a config file perhaps.

I have seen other people play the game withot the issue so ther has to be a way to turn it off.

In dark souls 2 there is a off option but it does not turn it off why would there be a option if there is no way for it to be off?
Like I said; AO is an in-game option for rendering. Has to either be turned off in-game options; or via the game's config file.

Well if the in game option does not work maybe there is a file that can change it.

Sorry I was not familiar with this particular game; I see this game has in-game option for SSAO, simply try this OFF and see if that helps. That is the AO method it uses.

Also please refer to these for help too:
