Your billing address doesn’t look like it matches up with your current country.
Hello, normally i've been able to use my credit card or paypal to purchase for things on Steam. Though recently it didn't let me do it, I currently live in Switzerland though I have only been living here for 2 years so my credit card is from Denmark (where I am from). And everytime I try and purchase something it now just says

"Your billing address doesn’t look like it matches up with your current country. Please contact support for assistance or use a payment method registered to your current address."

Now I tried to contact support, but they don't have a relevant topic to choose and I haven't gotten any answer in 2 weeks. Any ideas on what I could do to fix this? My paypal adress is set to my Swiss adress, and my credit card billing adress is set to the Swiss adress as well. So I don't get what it is talking about.

You can alternatively try to get a local payment method; or one that's not subjective to your country.

i.e. Paypal in between.

Yeah... I was also thinking of just buying a steam cd-key on another website. When it comes down to security, Steam makes it quite a pain to deal with and makes it as hard as possible to use even for yourself. But I guess this way it is almost impossible for someone to hijack your account and security information.

Digital CD-keys aren't risky, the worst that can happen is that the keys get revoked.

I didn't exactly mean outside of the Steam Store with the payment method either.

I never said that CD-keys are risky, I meant that it is probably just my alternative until I get this fixed. Or when I soon move back to my default country (Denmark).

I know though I think I need Steam support to help me with that one, sadly there is no number you can call to make sure you get a response.

Thanks for your help though ;)

You should get a response, as long as the ticket is open. telephone lines would be clogged if it was an option.

True. I usually get a response though where it says what their automation system tells me. Or the person might even say that I submitted my ticket the wrong place. And that I need to resubmit it, since Steam support doesn't have a very relevant topic for this problem.

I've even deleted my card and tried to add paypal but I keep getting that error, even made sure that my billing details in Paypal are the same I use on Steam! What's going on Steam?

Things are more strict now than in 2015.

But what country?

Where are you physically?

What currency?

Pretty old post buddy. But I really want to help you (sorry for the necro) , there are problems with various payments, if you really want to buy something and you want to put some funds in your account, the only way is to buy retail gift cards from trusted sites.

Security has changed a lot since then, I only buy from third-party sites like G2A these days. This problem I had fixed itself when I eventually moved back to Denmark and changed my country to Denmark as well. My guess is it was a VAT thing. In Switzerland you don't pay VAT while in all of EU you pay 25% VAT and Steams security just never caught up with what I was trying to do. They probably didn't want to take the chance that I was just someone trying to cheat the VAT because my credit card said Denmark on it.
