how do I check the dates when I sent gifts?

So I gifted a game to my friend a couple weeks ago, but I want to know the exact date, how do I check that?
the game was sent via email from steam client

If it hasn't been redeemed, it's still here: http://steamcommunity.com/my/inventory/#753_1

If it has been redeemed; it's in http://steamcommunity.com/my/inventory/ > More > View Gift History.

I'd recommend to gift the item directly on Steam; e-mail gifting is rather subjective.
