How to keep games, without steam?
I want to pull out but want to keep my investment. How would I go about keeping my games, without using steam?

And do I have to call a lawyer?

What do you mean? Please elaborate.

You want to move the data of the games?

You don't own games; you own licences from Steam.

Yes!

Call your Lawyer, show him the SSA and various EULA's you have willingly agreed to and come back to us with his response.

Anyway to buy the remaining licences, so I could move on?

You can't keep the games if you leave steam.

Yes, games you purchased are locked into your account and you can't take it out if that's what you want to do.

The games are permanently tied to your Steam account. There may be a few games you can get outside of Steam. If you own any EA games or Ubisoft games, you can often activate your Steam keys on Uplay or Origin eliminating the need to go through Steam to play them.

No you can't take your games out of steam. It is steam that owns your games. Not you.

B. Termination by You

You may cancel your Account at any time. You may cease use of a Subscription at any time or, if you choose, you may request that we terminate your access to a Subscription. Access to Subscriptions purchased as a part of a pack or bundle cannot be terminated individually, termination of access to one game within the bundle will result in termination of access to all games purchased in the pack. Your cancellation of an Account, or your cessation of use of any Subscription or request that access to a Subscription be terminated, will not entitle you to any refund, including of any Subscription fees. Valve reserves the right to collect fees, surcharges or costs incurred prior to the cancellation of your Account or termination of your access to a particular Subscription. Does that come in french? I don't read english fine print. I'm also no lawyer. What's all that mention of subscriptions.

I can delete steam and leave with my games if I don't have subscriptions?

I imagine selling my account is still against the rules?

All contracts in life can be broken... I don't see why this would be any different.

Not unless you want to be sued, they can't.

The short of it is this: you paid for a license to use the game on Steam, and per the rules set out by Steam. You have no right to, ownership of, or investment in the games you "purchased". You can terminate your usage of Steam, however that also terminates your right to play the games you own on Steam.

Simple fact is, your games need Steam to start. So you have to use Steam if you want to play them. You also need Steam to download and update the games, also to play online.
So NO , there is no way to pull out of Steam and keep your games playable.
Its either keep using Steam and your games or stop using Steam and no longer play your games.

1. At the bottom of every page is a link to the Steam subscriber agreement. I think it will display in your default language

2. No

3. Yes it can cause the account to be permanently suspended if caught

4. Broken contracts usually involve penalties for the party breaking it. I think you have to go through some kind of arbitration process but that may not apply to France or the EU
