Stupid Cooldown CS:GO
So I was playing CS:GO when a teammmate started to attack me for no reason.Another teammate killed hima and recieved a 30-minutes Cooldown for doing too much damage to his teammate. After a short time,I got a Cooldown, but a 7-days one, with the same reason. Is this a mistake?Steam drives me mad all the time

No, it's not a mistake.

You've committed 4 accumilated offences in a short period of time which has resulted in a 7 day ban. Wait a week and when you return; improve your behaviour else you'll keep on getting banned 7 days at a time for even minor infractions.

It's only "stupid" to the one that gets it.
I see this a lot where a annoying team mate is attacking everyone and not getting punished for it but when someone steps in and kills them for doing so they get bans for just wanting to play the game correctly and the team mate attacking there own team gets to go on with there day not giving a crap, this mostly happens due to people having to leave mid way through a game for some reason and don't want to get a ban so they try to get their team mates to kick them but in a game like Counter strike by kicking that one team mate you are basically going to lose unless you are destroying them so the team doesn't kick them so that person will start shooting like one or two people at the start of the round to annoy them to try and get kicked in my opinion these people should check what they need to do before they go into a game it even says thus above the MM timer saying that by queuing for a game you are dedicating your time to the game and i know emergency may come up during a match and you have to go but lets be honest that emergency is more impotent than a game so stop wasting your own time and others by shooting them and getting them to kick you just take the ban.

personally i think valve should implement some form of system to detect people doing this, for example it should see that this one person is attacking multiple people every round or so then if someone on the same team kills them they shouldn't get punished for it this would force people to take the ban which is why the ban is there in the first place to punish people abandoning games so your not in the wrong if someone is getting you to kick them they are in the wrong because when they joined that game they dedicated there time to it and accepted the fact that if they need to go they will be getting a ban. one thing i don't agree with is when for example your computer crashes and wont turn back on in time or your power goes out these are things that can not be avoided for example in this day and age you don't really expect a power cut but when it happens you can't be prepared for that and your computer may not crash a lot that that may be unexpected also so the valve should change the time you have to get back into the game to something like 5 - 10 minutes because i have a lot of friends that get back just as the timer runs out and they couldn't have done anything quicker so that is a bit unfair saying as they want to rejoin.

some of which can not be avoided such as team mates running through a Molotov which is not that player who decided to throw the Molotov most of the time it is the idiots that decide to run through it and the player who had thrown it would get banned.
