Do confirm that the playback device is set to the right device (despite what you say there.)
And check what the sound device is when you're in the game's own menu.

I mainly play csgo and skype uses headset just fine, just other programs use speakers. I have looked in game settings and steam settings for audio output, nothing. But thx for the quick reply!

Skype allows you to set the audio output device though; so do confirm that your headphones are the default audio playback device from your control panel.

Skype has the right output, that works fine. just on the control panel when I set as default device it doesnt set it
the mic says it has a speaker but when I disable it it goes to the speakers

On the control panel it says that the headset is the deafault communication device. It wont let me change it to default device

If someone still has an issue with this, the following worked for me:

1. Go to Control Panel -> Sound
2. Here, I had two things that were apparently conflicting:
(a). Speakers and Headphones (Set to "Default Device")
(b). Independent Headphones (Set to "Default Communication Device")
3. Click on "Speakers and Headphones" and click on the "Set Default" (basically making option (a) the default for everything. Option (b) should now show as just "Ready" with nothing default assigned to it.

Hopefully, this should solve your problem. I am still testing my system to make sure everything's working as before.
