Custom Screenshot Folder Not Working
I have set my screenshots to be saved to a folder in my Dropbox folder, however, the screenshots are not getting placed there. Screenshots are getting saved in different, unique folder for each game in the Steam/Userdata directory instead of where I specify in Steam's settings.
Is anyone else having this problem when they set a custom screenshot location?

F5 takes screenshots in the games folder.
Try using FRAPS and set it up to use a dedicated folder, then take your screenshots using the FRAPS key combo (which you can set via FRAPS).

The default screenshot key in Steam is F12, but this can be changed in the settings. You can also change where Steam saves those screenshots, and that is not what it working for me.
If it working for you?
I don't use Steam screenshots so I cannot really say, I use the F5 key in my games.

Still happening for me. Valve could you please fix this?

Update: Never mind, you have to check "save an uncompressed copy" for it to work.

I wish they would be more clear about it. Like say "save an uncompressed copy to a folder" perhaps or put the screenshot folder button under the option for an uncompressed copy.

That would still be a complete lie because it saves a *compressed* copy into the custom folder when you select this. Go figure :) It is just a completely broken/misleading option and the description bears no relation to what it actually does. Quality UI design right there.

Same here.
A years old bug.. who wosn't one, actually. Instead, a linguistic misunderstood. ^^
Thanks, Aki-hana-096!

Funny, it does NOT work for all games. I was trying like crazy to change the default folder and was testing with a game called Lines (just because it loads faster and was installed already), and it would never save the uncompressed file for whatever reason.

Came here cause apparently this is still a thing 5 years later. Come on man. Anyway sorry to keep the necro-chain going but thanks for the solution dude, this still works. I guess piece of code that runs this feature is just untouched, even after all these updates.
