How to STOP steam games from recognizing racing pedals
I was planning a 2nd run thru on Amnesia (Yes, seriously!). When game loads my view instantly starts spinning (Stanley Parable does this as well) because the game is detecting a connected racing pedal set. While it always happened w/ Stanley, it just recently started doing this with Amnesia as well.

Is there some way (other than unplugging the device, of course) to disable these games from reading input from the pedal set?

TIA

Depends on game. Some games allow you to disable a connected game controller in-game so its then not. It's best to just unplug something u don't wish a game to use or see.

Most practical sure, but potentially relationship damaging. If hubby's pedal set is disconnected (from my last RPG) when he's trying to make a last minute iracing session, well, it won't be pretty!

The spinning happens in some games if you have wheel connected to your PC, even if you dont use pedals with your wheel, seem to especially happen in console port games.

I dont use pedals for my wheel because of my busted leg and have gas and brake mapped to gear flaps on the wheel but some games will still just constantly spin when wheel is connected.
I just unplug the wheel during those games, easiest solution.

I said "In-game" which means on a game by game basis.
If you disable it your game, it won't effect those other games.
Now that is on the basis that your particular game even allows to disable/enable like this, as not all have that option.

Better off just disconnecting it before you start your games that won't be using it. When you're finished, reconnect it.
