When stuff on my wishlist goes on sale I get a notification right?
Do I get some kind of notificaiton when something on my wishlist goes on sale, like a big window that pops up so I can't miss it?

An email.

"A game on your wishlist is on sale!"

If you are using the Steam app on your mobile you should also get a pop up.

For example with the iOS, it gives you a notification to the Notification -menu if you've got Steam Mobile app installed (and you've used it before with your Steam -account.)

I don't have no mobile app or iOS or anything like that, does it tell me in the Steam program for Microsoft Windows 8.1 PC operating system?

Do you have a mobile phone to receive sms text?

• Register at a game-deal website, set up price parameters, send email notice to google account.

• Set up google to notify you (by sms) whenever an email comes in from that game-deal website.

It's a round-about method, but it worked fine in my pre-smartphone days!

I can go a long time between email checks, myself … It's handy to use google sms notifications to know if a family-member/close-friend sent me something.

No, the client in itself does not alert you.

I do think I've seen a few of those What's New -windows display if something from my wishlist is on sale, but they don't come up all the time (mostly when you quit the game), so I wouldn't rely on them.
