The short story: every email code that I receive for a password reset is incorrect. There is no dialog box asking about the secret question either. In my frustration I deleted Steam and reinstalled. The problem persists and this has been happening to me for 3 days and has been a problem to others for over a week. According to a Steam valuation website my account has "Over the last 11 years, you've spent 4399.2 hours playing this selection, which includes 233 items, is valued at $2699.04, and requires 866.9 GB " I have submitted a Steam support ticket but apparently that takes weeks to resolve. http://i.imgur.com/zknAdKT.png

Well it seems like Valve does not care about us. No acknowledgment of the problem to be found. I am irritated after 4 days. Cant imagine what the guys going on 20+ days feel like.

I think I figured it out. I had to make this alternate account to post. When I tried doing the password reset on this account I was sent an 8 digit code. Every code they sent on my main account has been 5 digits. not sure how to fix this

An absurd amount of people are having this issue for over a month now with no acknowledgment from steam support. Good luck you're probably ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the rest of us.

I finally figured out mine after 5 days...i tried all possible password. But it seemed to have work for me after I re-installed steam, made a new account then went to change user from the steam menu.

I typed in my old e-mail address and a possible password and it worked. Although I am convinced that I had already tried this password within the last 5 days, if not then I just advise everyone trying to remember their password that it is case sensitive..don't forget any numbers or '.' you may have placed within your password. Good luck and hopefully steam can fix this already.
