GTA V Pre-purchase is messed up for me
So a couple days ago I pre-purchased Grand Theft Auto V. Today I was going to let it pre-load while i went out to do things like normal. I come home later and I see it says the pre-load was suspended, I was refunded the Game, and then somehow Arma 3 was purchased!!!??? I have been waiting ages for Grand theft auto v on pc, and now Steam swaps my purchase with Arma 3? I am confused on what to do because of Steams no return policy. Is there a way I could swap Arma 3 for GTA V. I never bought arma 3 and I have no idea How it ended up being purchased. I didn't download Arma 3 because I don't wasnt it! I would like to Pre-order the game before it releases. Thanks in advance!

Contact Steam support, "maybe" they'll help. But still it's easy to refund preorders and buy something else for that cash, so either a) someone did this behind your back or b) you want to cheat the system.

Thats what i thought people would think. But I am in high school and i started the preload at around 7, at 7:21 i got the refund, and at 7:40 (after i left for school) the transaction occurred for Arma 3. I am so confused. I made my gaming PC for GTA V, why on earth would i buy arma 3 instead and try to "cheat the system" and risk $60 on Arma 3? That is also what confused me... Arma 3 and GTA V both cost $60, so it was like steam swapped the games for me.

I really wish you guys were in my position right now. I have no way to prove it.

Sounds like someone had access to your computer when you went to school.
Are you even old enough to play GTA V?

There is no age limit on who can play the game. Only who can purchase it. So it doesn't really matter.

Exactly, I'm 17 anyway, and the only one home was my mom, and she knows nothing about computers and wouldn't have bought Arma 3. I am very Mad right now at what ever the cause of this was.

my first guess is, your account has been hijacked, the game refunded and the hijacker bought another game with the funds. check you account details and especially your transaction history.

Yeah it shows up in the transactions

yeah, it shows up in the transactions but I have no idea what to do about this. How and Why would someone hijack my account just to buy something I don't want?

the question is, what does the transaction history show?
You might have an infection that normal AntiVirus products cannot pick up.

Try GFI or VIPRE AntiVirus, it does a good job of disinfecting Steam machines:

Also, don't run so many background tasks, use Task Manager and see how many processes are running under the Processes tab. In the bottom left corner of the task bar.

If it is over say 64 to 80 processes then you might want to terminate a few and set them not to start or load at boot-up.

It shows Arma 3 getting purchased. In the email receipt thingy it shows GTA V being refunded and then 20 minutes later Arma 3 was purchased. I contacted steam, but they still havent resplnded after like 7 hours.
ROFL, 7 hours.

It can take Steam Support 7 days to 30 days to respond to a ticket.

In the mean time secure your PC and make sure it does not have Remote Desktop Trojans installed on it.
