Steam Client Bootstrapper is not responding [FIXED]
Whenever i open up steam it goes to the login where i need to type my name.
Normal enough
but when i go to type in my account info it freezes and says steam client bootstrapper is not responding.
I really want to get into steam so i can play my games please help
P.S. i should add this: i can get into my games normally when i go to the shortcut on my computer but when i try to open the steam community it freezes (Steam Community not the game)

Ok, so my Steam Desktop App was not loading for some reason.

After unplugging my wired Logitech Controller, it then sucessfully loaded.

Try unplugging your controller and see if it works.

Also, if you do successfully load Steam, do NOT plug it back in, it will crash the client.

If you want to plug the controller back in, go to Steam > Settings > Account and then change the beta participation to "opt-out". After this, it is safe to plug the controller back in.

Alternatively, you can go to C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\Package

And then delete the file named "Beta".

Finally, if you still can't load Steam, either wait until it's next update, or uninstall then reinstall Steam.

Hopefully the next update will solve this.

Please spread the word about this fix.

Hope this helps!

well maybe ur steam bottstraper file is crupted or something cause it wont run o.o maybe update? or it does not run as admin just do this just launching steam as admin dont mean bootstrapper also run as admin

If using a PC
- Please exit Steam, and navigate to the …\Steam\ directory (by default this is C:\Program Files\Steam - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it).
- Delete all of the files in this folder except: Steam.exe and the \Steamapps\ and \Userdata\ folders
- Restart your computer and test the issue again
its safe it wont affect ur game or anythings its reply from steam support

Thanks, I just had the same problem and this worked, even without rebooting ( I forgot that part)

I was having this problem, but it was because I was charging my Nintendo Switch controllers from my PC. After unplugging them Steam works fine.
