The Elder Scrolls Anthology - Steam Key question
Hello! I plan to buy TES Anthology next week, but before I do that, I have a question, which you will hopefully answer for me :)

I own TES V Skyrim Legendary Edition (not on this account, but I do) on Steam, and I heard that while Morrowind and Oblivion are available in normal DVD version as well as Digital Version for Steam. The problem is, this digital version is a set of all three latest games in one code. And if I activate it, I won't get Skyrim as a gift (I already lost base game that way, when upgrading from base to legendary).
And since Morrowind and Oblivion are possible to play without Steam, it makes pretty much no sense to activate this key (yes, I know about these little add-ons for Oblivion, but they aren't worth the key).
Is it possible to just sell the code itself without the box, and still play all the games if I own Skyrim LE already?

Let me know if you understand what I wrote here, and if my thinking is correct (I hope it is, I could get some money back and buy Mass Effect with it ^^)

P.S.
If I buy Polish version of the Anthology, will Morrowind and Oblivion be with Polish Subtitles ON the disc, or will I have to use this key to actually get polish versions?

I bought the box last year and it is a single code for all 3 games ( Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim).
There is no way to activate just one game and not the others. In the box there are install discs for all games but they all need Steam to play. So if you buy the box and want to play any of the games in it you have to activate the code on Steam. So, no you cant resell a single game from the Anthology edition and still play the others. Sorry.

Really? That's interesting, I heard that only Skyrim REQUIRES Steam, while two older games are available in normal version (On the disc, without Steam) and as a Steam version, so you can chose which one you want or something.

Maybe it is different for different countries? But i must confess i never even used the discs and just activated the code and downloaded the newest Steam versions. So its possible that you are correct.
But WHERE is the Steam key? I have the boxed version of TES Anthology, and can't find the product code to activate it on Steam.
My grand-daughter bought a box containing *all* the Bethesda games, including ESO I and 2 (Arena and Daggerfall). She loaded all the games one at a time, without Steam. When she got to Skyrim, she was forced to use Steam, but she plays all the other games without Steam.

Steam put Morrowind and Oblivion in her list of available games but she ignores that, and plays them without Steam. She uses lots of mods from Nexus too.

I bought an elder scrolls anthology copy from someone, and I can use Arena-Oblivion without steam, but then I get to skyrim, and I'm forced to use steam, but the person I bought it off of already used the code, so what's the point of the cd?

That's why second hand market isn't optimal. CD-keys are one-time use.

The CD is used to install the game, but nowadays they're almost as good as for frisbee since no game stays v1.00 forever.

Well, if you didn't get it last time, you know what? it's back ^_^
check mediamarkt/saturn or muve/konsoleigry (probably more)
but it seems, you are from Poland, just like me
you must know that ... we don't get steam keys
in our anthology there are only CDs/DVDs
I did not bought it yet, because it is missing "something", anything that would make me buy it.
Arena, Daggerfall those are free
Morrowind - I have it's gold release already, on 3 CDs, not 4 like on this anthology (why not 1 DVD ???)
Oblivion, Skyrim - have all (Morr too) on steam
so what do I actually get?
1. book-like case - good
2. way too many CDs
3. polish versions of TES III÷V (subtitles, only Skyrim is dubbed)
4. maps ... well those are good only if you want to put them on the wall, I can't imagine playing Morrowind with that paper map
5. ... no, there is not 5th point, but there should be
why Anthology doesn't have Jeremy Soule's soundtracks? that would be real addon to the box, not the maps
why it does not include Redguard and Battlespire? i know, those are not canon games, but there are only 2 of them, not counting TES Online and mobile titles, so why not to add them, also, those were not released in Poland, it would be really nice addon for us (well, I bought them on GoG, but still ...)

most people who are going to buy it (or already bought it ;P) probably have most (if not all) of those 5 titles (or those nonDOS 3), so there really should be something more in that box

@AstroGamerSteve, it should be on the back of the manual in the last-page pocket in the anthology book.

Really just posted that so anyone who came across this with the same question would be able to find the answer.

For everyone that stumbles upon this post and still having trouble figuring out how to play / redeem the games on steam.

TLDR;
TO REDEEM : Do not own Skyrim, Oblivion or Morrowind otherwise it won't work.
TO PLAY: You can play every game in the box excluding Skyrim via the included CD's without online activation.

According to the Bethesda FAQ to The Elder Scrolls: Anthology https://help.bethesda.net/app/answers/detail/a_id/20442/~/how-can-i-install-my-elder-scrolls-anthology-games%3F

games up until Skyrim are playable without activation on steam and can be played via the included CD's.

Skyrim on the other hand requires to be activated on steam, meaning the code has to be activated on a Steam account which does not own any of the following games : Morrowind, Oblivion or Skyrim.

If any of those games are already activated before trying to activate the Steam key, Steam will say that you already own that product and will not give you the other games or download them for you, so beware.

Hope this helps someone.
Have a good one
