Disk Write Error on a Macbook Pro
I'm new here, so if this is in the wrong section, please let me know.

Now, I have a Macbook Pro and use a WD My Passport to store a few games on while on the go. I have roughly 15 games that I have installed in the past two weeks since owning this Mac, and did not have an issue with the installs at all.

Now, today, all of a sudden, whenever I try to install a game to my WD My Passport, it gets to the screen where it says " Preparing _________ Files for Install", then I get a message that pops up and says "An Error Occurred While Installing ________ (Disk Write Error)". I used a blank, because it is happening on more than one game.

Is there anybody out there who has ran into this, and can give me a hand with a solution? It would be greatly appreciated.

I have recently tried to install the games directly to my Mac hard drive, and it worked fine. So it has to be something with my WD drive.

I would be very grateful for a solution as I do not want to store all my games on my small (128gb) SSD.

Then the disk obviously has errors or connection issues.
Run diagnostics and check it for errors/bad sectors with this:
WD Drive Utilities for Mac[support.wdc.com]

Ensure WD Macintosh +TURBO Drivers are up to date.

Ensure the drive is awake fully before trying to write to it.

I had the WD Utilities already, so I ran the diagnostics, and they passed. The drivers are up to date, and my drive is fully awake.

Check the free space?
Defrag the drive?

I just ran all the diagnostics again, and the full drive scan failed. Would a total format of the drive fix this, or is the drive shot?

Does it not detail WHY it failed? Error code of any sort?

Free space isn't an issue. I bought this drive less than two weeks ago when I bought the Mac. If it's shot, It's still in the return period, so that isn't an issue.

It says "Complete Drive Test Failed"

I'm dumb lol. Thanks for your help though.

Turns out my Paragon NTFS software trial has expired. I just bought the full prgram, and everything works perfectly. Again, thanks for your input.
