Voice Chat Crashing Steam (my fix)

Hey so for the longest time I was having the issue that so many others are having.
When I start steam it works fine, when I text chat friends it works fine, when I voice chat friends my steam client crashes.

A little background my OS is windows 7 64 bit. and I'm using a Logitech H555 headset (USB)

I noticed that using my headset the client would always crash. I tried to use the chat again without the headset plugged in and it worked without crashing.

So I uninstalled the USB drivers for me headset and rebooted and re installed them and now my voice chat is working just fine with my H555 headset.

Also on the side I went into the compatibility options from the icon and made sure that all setting where unchecked (also for all users). But I do not believe this had anything to do with it.

I hope my simple fix works for others too.

(Yes I tried the Opt out of bata, no it did not work)
(I uninstalled steam and re installed, still did not work)
(I did not go as far as uninstalling/re installing windows)

Hmm yea, Driver issue, plain and simple.
